(Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or Non-RECE Child Care Assistant)

Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of ECE, ECE Student,
Educational Assistant/Child and Youth Studies/Concurrent Education Student
Other: Experience working with young children

Hours/Week: Varied
Hourly Wage: $20 – $27

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Standard First Aid & Level C CPR Certificate
• Vulnerable Sector Check (in the last 6 months)
• Up-to-date immunizations
• Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act and/or former experience working with young children
• Flexible to change in work assignments depending on the needs of the program
• Monday – Friday based on staffing needs between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Working with preschool-aged children (2 1/2 to 5 years)
• Engage children through play, interactions, and creative experiences
• Support teacher plans and implement age-appropriate activities that follow ‘How Does Learning Happen’ framework
• Communicate and work co-operatively with staff members
• Maintain documentation (daily written log, arrival and departures of children)
• Provide a high level of professionalism and maintain confidentiality.
